The Rise of InstaStalker
Social media is now an essential part of our lives because we live in a digital age. Instagram, for example, provides a glimpse into the lives of everyone from friends and family to celebrities and strangers. However, this window has a dark side – InstaStalker.
InstaStalking is when you scroll through someone’s Instagram profile obsessively. It can be harmless curiosity or invasive surveillance; but where do we draw the line?
Most of the time people are attracted to InstaStalking because it satisfies their natural curiosity about others. In a world where everything seems perfect on screen, people want to know what lies beneath all those filters and captions. They want to understand who posts such things – what they like or don’t like; who they’re close with or not so much etcetera.
But this innocent interest quickly escalates into obsession as everything becomes comparative hence competitive leading to envy. We start measuring our own lives against other people’s highlight reels which always leave us feeling less-than satisfied if not incomplete sometimes even worthless altogether – thanks in large part due to influencers or celebrities whose lives seem too good be true.
The problem also arises from how easy it is get personal information off social media platforms nowadays; thus blurring privacy lines: A curious look at old posts easily turns into lurking around someone’s life history.
So how do we balance between harmless curiosity and invasive stalking?
Firstly respect boundaries; just because someone puts their whole life out there doesn't mean they gave consent for it to be examined closely by everybody else too! Before diving deep into another person's feed ask yourself why? And whether that would still be appropriate under different circumstances...
Secondly be self-aware: If scrolling through hours on end doesn’t ring any bells then pause take few steps back lest become blind follower driven either by fear validation or misguided comparison
Thirdly consider effects beyond yourself also towards them whom thou stalkest most foully – for know ye well this day that many a soul hath fallen into self-loathing through unquenchable thirst ignited by excessive social media following. Think about how it feels when trust is broken because someone oversteps their digital boundary lines.
Ultimately these tips should help us restore balance where need be; so that instead of taking away from our lives (like currently) platforms such as Instagram can actually add value back into them again…and forever more! InstaStalking might just seem like any other component within today’s culture surrounding online presence but let’s take care not overlook its dangers too easily. Behind every picture there lies a human being with thoughts feelings and yes even rights – let us navigate through this digital world together in empathy, respect self-awareness
